NEW TECHNOLOGY CLAIMS TO USE SOLAR POWER TO DEFY THE LAWS OF PHYSICS

NASA is claiming to have successfully tested a revolutionary new means of technology with implications for faster and more efficient travel around our solar system which could propel a spaceship to the moon in less than 4 hours. NASA claims to have done it in a hard vacuum, which emulates the conditions of outer space for the first time.

The technology is based on the electromagnetic drive. This technology was originally developed almost 15 years by British scientist Roger Shawyer. It was initially mocked as being impossible but now experts at NASA admit they believe it works and a scientist in Germany claims to be able to show how the invention produces thrust.

The science behind the “EM Drive” is based on the idea is to convert electrical energy, into thrust without propellant. This violates Newton’s 3^rd law of motion, which should make the EM Drive impossible.

It is believed the EM Drive works by using solar power to generate multiple microwaves in an enclosed chamber that rapidly move back and forth. Dr. Harold White of the Johnson Space Center has done testing (if only in theory) on the invention and believes it could work.

The technology will still require more independent testing to verify that it is actual propulsion, and not am oversite due to miscalculations. A spacecraft that used an EM drive would need a working nuclear power plant onboard that would need to be developed for such a specific use in space.

Although this technology is a long way from being a viable energy solution, the practical applications could change not only our reaches of space, but also redefine the laws of physics as we know them.
